Man of the Match: Defoe

Man of the Match: Defoe

Well I was actually rating this to be a fairly close game, but wow was I wrong. The goals came, and just never stopped. I have never actually seen a score like this. My mom told me this morning and I actually laughed at her. I thought, “no ways can it really be 9-1. That is just ridiculous.”

Clearly it isn’t. Defoe grabbed himself a hat-trick in just 7 minues. I actually don’t know what else to say, except something that was said at half-time clearly worked for Spurs. It was only 1-0 at the break, but once Defoe found the net, it was the only thing that seemed to happen.

Does any one know of any other games that have had ridiculous scores lately? Drop your comments below.

Springbok End of Year Tour Squad Announcement

Posted by on Nov 2, 2009 in Sport | 0 comments

So the Springbok squad was announced shortly after the Absa Currie Cup Final which the Bulls took. I enjoyed the final and thought that the Cheateehs should probably have been rewarded a bit more for their efforts, but a think a spot in the final was just reward for their form after losing the first four games of the season.

Something that I found amazing about the Final weekend, was that in the U21 game, the Cheetahs received four (4) yellow cards, and a red card! That is unbelievable! It was poorly ill-discipline that cost them the game as they were never able to take the game to the U21 Bulls as they often had two players off at a time.

Back to the Boks. There are one or two surprises in the squad, but I think some new blood has been rewarded for their efforts this season. So here is the squad:

New Springbok Jersey

Posted by on Jun 3, 2009 in Sport, Style | 4 comments

So the new Springbok jersey has officially been unveiled right ahead of the Lions Tour. I personally prefer the previous top, but hey, I don’t care what they wear as long as they win!

Not many people will actually notice that the King Protea has now been included and placed over the heart. It has the word “Rugby” underneath. There was much talk of the Springboks being renamed to the Proteas Rugby side, but it seems they have decided to keep with the Springbok, which has now been moved over the right breast. The players jersey will say “Springboks” under the Springbok, while the fans jersey will just say SA Rugby, as in the picture above.

What do you think of the jersey? Is it better than the previous one, or is it horrible? Leave your views below!

New Man United kit 2009/2010

Posted by on May 17, 2009 in Sport, Style | 2 comments

So the end of the season is almost here, and United have managed to wrap up their third title in a row. Now for the Champions League final! It is now the time of the season where most of the clubs reveal their changes to their kits. Man United have not confirmed this as their new kit, but they have had their current one for two years, and most clubs make changes on a yearly basis, so I am fairly confident that they will have a new kit for next season.

New Kit Option One
New Kit Option One

New Kit Option Two

I personally prefer option two. I think it looks far more professional, and a more complete kit. I am not sure if I like the V shape on the chest, but then again, we don’t actually know if one of these is the right kit. Which one do you prefer?
