Skype has been one of those technologies that for me seems to have been around for ages. Not much seems to have changed but it has been one of those ever present programs that every time I re-install Windows (which seems to be faaar too often).
It seems they are finally starting to embrace the mobile scene. Facebook so far hasn’t been up to scratch with their mobile products due to the size of their audience and the speed at which they needed to adapt, but skype on the other hand is moving into an area that I finally think it belongs.
They have the uber big brand image behind it and now that it is backed by Microsoft, they have the resources to become one of, if not the biggest mobile communication tool.
It is quite a wicked video as well and definitely targets the younger generation that seem to do everything on their mobile. Perfect ad for the perfect target market, and just for good measure, why not throw in a mention of one of the biggest pop artists in the world right now, Lady Gaga.
So you and a couple mates are busying vibing the sand pit with the hectic waves with your toight abs and lekker shades gooing all around the place. Then you check these mooi squeeeezers out the corner of your eye, and you think that those bettys are ones for the record books. Your first instinct is to call your other best mate who decided he “wasn’t smaaking that vibe” and stayed at home. Loser. You pick up your phone about to give his ass a call to convince him that these betty’s are completely off the chain and need to be attended to ASAP.
You dial his nommer one time coz obviously he is your best bro so he is on speed dial numero uno. “You do not have enough airtime. Please recharge before attempting to make any calls” tunes the chicky on the other side of the phone. Just when you are about to give her a proper klap you realize that you were a flipping chop and didn’t get that R5 airtime voucher on the way to natures swimming pool. Flip oke - amateur move bru.
If you had Flexicell, you wouldn’t be making flipping dof moves like that my china. Flexicell solves that problem for those that are a little bit short of some currency in the kop department. Flexicell goois you a set amount of airtime right off your account right at the start of the month. No more queues with people buying a truck load of food and who smell bad. No more fighting with the bergies outside the shop fighting to get your last suip of papsak just so you can get your sexy hands on another R5 airtime voucher. Flexicell works with a debit order and druks the airtime right off your account for the amount that you signed up. Kief.
So I have some BlackBerry Jokes for you. Quite cheesy, but since all of my friends have been trying to persuade me to get one of these CrapBerries, I thought I would poke fun at them now while I have the chance. ;)
Hey BlackBerry, why you looking so umm.. down?
What did the one BlackBerry user say to the other? Nothing because BBM is down.
Why did the BlackBerry user cross the road? To go get airtime.
As seen on Facebook: “dude nokia 3310 pwns blackberry ;)”
Blackberry are having a 3 day mourning for Steve Jobs.
Apparently, this is how to fix your BlackBerry after the RIM servers went down worldwide causing your beloved BBM and email to crash.
I think Steve Jobs is enjoying playing God and causing mayhem while his company launches iOS5. Brilliant.
So NFC communication is really coming along in leaps and bounds and will definitely lead to use not really needing to carry wallets around. PayPal is trying to take hold of this market early to establish a foothold for the company. Here is a great video actually demonstrating how this NFC payment would go down.
I have always been a Nokia fan. For most of my family when it comes to choosing a new phone, they consider what Nokia has to offer first, and prefer them over other phones. When I heard that I was one of the 60 lucky bobs to test out the sleak and sexy new Nokia N8 I was absolutely delighted! I love technology and any time that I can get my hands on a flagship product without breaking the bank and test it to its limits I am simply in my element.
So lets get down to the details shall we?
The video camera is a 12MP beast. For a phone this is almost unheard of and is only carried by the top of the line camera’s with many SLR camera’s not matching this MP count. Was it any good though? Hell yes! The camera was simply amazing and actually lead me to just wonder at random pictures due to the quality taken by a phone. I was left in awe of the power of a camera so small. Mind blowing.
The camera is a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics with Xenon Flash and auto-focus. It has 3x digital zoom and can shoot HD quality 720p resolution. There is also a secondary front facing camera used for video calls (QVGA, 640 x 480) and both camera’s deliver almost unrealistic quality. Big thumbs up.
