The new Manchester United home kit for the 2011/2012 season was unveilved today! What a beauty she is. It is nice and simple, but yet somehow elegant at the same time. Very fitting for the most successul English league side in history after over taking Liverpools record 18 titles.

So I am sure you have all heard of the new South African Air line company called Velvet Sky? Wait, what? How have you not heard of them? Oh, you’re a socially-inept hermit who doesn’t expose themselves to social surroundings or any form of media either. Shame.
For those of you who HAVE heard of them, well they are doing a horrible job already.
“Already?”, you might say with a confused look on your cute face. Yes my darlings, already. You see, I somehow clicked on some spammy twitter link this morning to be taken to the Velvet Sky website. Boom! I was greeted with a lovely count down timer showing 12 noon today! I was sky high with excitement! (See what I did there? …..Jeez, that one was lame. I apologize.)
Look at that! Fantasmalistically exciting! I held my breath for that second! Only be to greeted with such epic proportions of FAIL!
Seriously! That is all that changed! I was expecting lights, camera’s, flashes, red carpets and all sorts of wonderfully majestic goodies!
What was I greeted with instead. A gigantic pile of bland.
What is up with that logo? Did someone spill some paint onto the webpage? Sis man. I have a feeling that another SAA similar shenanigans is on its way. Durban people. Pffft.
So I checked 20 minutes after 12 and it was still producing the fail as above. I checked back just after two now and the new site is finally up. It is horribly slow though and doesnt seem to be too helpful. That is just my first impression. I guess only time will tell. It doesn’t seem to be populated with any flight details either which kind of defeats the point of an airline don’t you think? Read More
So I like to moan, rant and especially rave about companies or brands that have failed me or just messed me around. With it being the festive season I thought I would stop being such a grumpy Captain Awesome and highly the AWESOMENESS that has been Chaos Computers recently!
Over the last couple of weeks they have been running a special where every day they have a different item on special. At the end of the special period (Today), they select a winner and one lucky person gets to take home a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab! Hmmm sexy….
I am quite kitted out when it comes to hardware and toys, but one special grabbed my attention. R50 for a pair of headphones with a mic!? HAIBO I said to myself! This can’t be true! They must want me to come in store so that they can kidnap me! Then I saw that I could order online so I felt safer!
So anyways, I called a couple of my mates and told a few guys at work, and next thing I knew I was placing an order for 15 headsets! This was actually the second special for the day after their Xbox Arcade for R999 special flew out of stock within two hours! So two specials on one day and for only R50? I was lank impressed!
So I called ahead and made sure that they had stock of such a large order after it being at such a low price and they did. They kept my 15 aside for me and when I walked in, they were ready and waiting behind the counter! BAM! Read More

Chris M made a bold statement the other day. He rated that 1 in 500 sites have proper, basic SEO principles instated. Initially, I thought it was a bold statement, but once engaged in discussion, combined with a bit of research, I would have to say that the figures can’t be far from his estimate.
Basic SEO principles might seem a bit of a broad term, but I will hopefully be able to describe things as I go along.
Initially when I saw Chris’ tweet providing those numbers I thought he was crazy. I knew that many sites do not have some, or a lot, of the fundementals SEO foundations in place, but I thought 1 in 500 was an absurd number. With being so interested to learn and grow from the industry experts around me, I asked him what he based this on.
He gave me a recent example that he had come across of the Century City website. First of all, the basic SEO principles on that site are shocking. For a site of that size that surely must drive a fair amount of traffic, it had virtually no SEO principles implemented. The analytics code was in the header which could lead to inaccurate statistics and just leads to a mess. Then their meta data is terrible. Actually I can’t say that as there is virtually no meta data. They have the following title: <title>CENTURY CITY</title>.
Are you telling me that they could not think of a single keyword to link to century city? Nothing at all? Or was this a home made site? I wanted to find out so I did a bit of digging. Read More
