2013 Birthday Wishlist

Posted by on Apr 8, 2013 in Cape Town, My life | 0 comments

So my birthday has crept up on me this year. It was only last week that I realized that it was coming up. The last two weeks have been manic for me and after a few people started to nag me about some gift ideas I decided I needed to sit down and draw up a list.

This process made me realize that I am EXCEPTIONALLY privileged as there is nothing major that I need or want and this actually makes me feel quite guilty.

Anyway, here is the list:

  • Mauritius Holiday – a little far fetched but a bunch of us are thinking about doing this together so if someone wants to pay for me that would rock :P
  • Big poofy warm slippers
  • A big grey stylish winter coat – something like this but preferably in grey.
  • Steve Jobs Biography by Walter Issacson.

Apart from that, I think I am quite fortunate :)

Feb Challenge Review

Posted by on Mar 15, 2013 in Cape Town | 0 comments

So this ended up being rolled into two months because I actually enjoyed this challenge.

During Feb my challenge was to not drink. Nothing – not a drop of booze at all. I thought this was going to be tough to be honest because I like a nice cold beer here and there and I enjoy unwinding with mates with some drinks.

Anyway, Feb zoomed by and I almost didn’t notice it. It wen’t by so smoothly that I actually decided to do it for the March as well. So far I have only had one blip during the 6 weeks, but I think you are allowed an exception to your self made exile when your best mate is graduating. Great, thanks for agreeing with me.

March will carry on and I am sure it will carry on smoothly. So far I am 4.5kgs down this year and feeling good and I think the no booze has helped add a little bit of focus to things.

I need a challenge for April though? Any thoughts?

A Month!?

Posted by on Mar 15, 2013 in Cape Town | 0 comments

Sweet Breezy Daddy has been gone for a long time. I see I have left you puppies along for almost a full month all on your own. I feel like that irresponsible Uncle that is meant to be looking after the kids for the week but ends up in Vegas with strippers and unwanted sores all over my body.

Right. Enough nonsense. I am back and I expect you to be prepared. Work has had me tied up but I am lovely it. But, I know I am in the wrong and I am prepared for my spanking.

Stay Tuned.

Knoof Nek Longboarder Speaks Out

The video below has been making quite a splash these last few days. There has been much talk about it. Some saying how awesome it was while others saying how stupid it was.

I personally lean towards both sides. It is incredibly talented what they did, but also extremely reckless. The video has received over 1.2 million views already.

Things get interesting as the two of them have now issued a response to all the outcry. See below:

What are your thoughts?

Justin Bieber Confirmed For Cape Town, JHB 2013

Posted by on Dec 4, 2012 in Cape Town | 3 comments

So after my rant last week about Justin Bieber not being confirmed yet, I am pleased to announce that we can put all these rumours to bed officially. This morning it was announced that he would be coming, but upon looking at the Big Conerts website as well as 5fm & Computicket showed nothing. Not a single blog post.

Up until now…I have just seen that they have all updated their websites with the information for the shows.

Justin Bieber will be performing in South Africa as follows:

Wednesday 8th May 2013 – Cape Town Stadium, Cape Town

Sunday 12th May 2013 – FNB Stadium, Johannesburg

Ticketing Information:

Tickets go on sale for the Johannesburg show (web, outlets and call centers) – Monday 10th December 2012 (09:00 – local time SAST). Price from R315 – R750.

Tickets go on sale for the Cape Town show (web, outlets and call centers) – Tuesday 11thDecember 2012 (09:00 – local time SAST). Price from R315 -  R700.

Tickets available online from Big Concerts or Computicket.

I wonder if this announcement will drive him to become the most watched YouTube star again after Psy took his crown last week. I still don’t think that he will be able to put on a show as good as Lady Gaga did in Cape Town.

What do you think? Excited much?

Lady Gaga Rocked Cape Town Last Night – My Review

Posted by on Dec 4, 2012 in Cape Town | 5 comments

I was by no means a fan at all before last night. I went there excited to see The Darkness with the added benefit of getting to see a great performance. I barely knew any songs never mind any of the lyrics, but holy balls, that show last night was mind blowing, and I honestly don’t think I will get to see a better all round performance ever again.

It was incredible. I have never witnessed such an amazing overall performance. It wasn’t a concert, it was a full theatrical performance with dancing, singing and some truly awesome entertaining.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew it would be in your face and very big, and it certainly was. I am still lost for words actually.

Singing – 9/10 – She did a lot more singing than I thought she would, and when she did she hit most of the notes. I was very impressed with this and the fact that she actually played the guitar and piano a bit. She is actually very muscially talented much to my surprise.

Dancing – 10/10 – There were dance moves for every song, with a stage full of dancers always perfectly in time and just beautifully composed. She could join in time at any point of any song and be perfectly in time. It was quite incredible to be honest and all while singing the majority of the song.

Crowd Engagement – 10/10 – She had two instances when she pulled up fans from the crowd and jammed with them. No security surrounding her or anything of the sort. Fans touching her, hugging, kissing, singing along and just being aloud to embrace their incredible fortune with a world pop-star, all while she looked like she was casually singing with a couple of mates at home. Not only that, but she was a truly genuine person who was honestly
